Processing and modernization of the SCHIESS straightening machine in SIJ-Acroni Ironworks
PROCESSING FROM THE HYDRAULIC SYSTEM OF THE DRIVE OF THE ROLLERS IN THE ELECTRIC MOTORIZED SYNCHRONOUS FREQUENCY-CONTROLLED DRIVE.
The customer SIJ-Acroni had problems with the diminished hydraulic system of the 5-rollers system on the Schiess heavy duty straightening machine, where the maintenance costs and the outdated regulation system became unsustainable and a solution was sought after modernization with advanced technology.
The problem was that the basic construction of the straightening machine and rollers had to be retained, without major alterations.During the repair, simultaneous replacement of all 5 new rollers with bearings and support rollers, 5 new drives were integrated into existing cylinders, implemented with 5 angular planetary reducers of the nominal torque of 80,000Nm.
The drive was made with 5 asynchronous el. motors SIEMENS with power P = 30kW, equipped with incremental encoders. Drive control and synchronization was performed with Danfoss frequency converters connected via SIMATIC controller and PLC. The regulation of the control is done from the control cabin, where the monitor is on which the graphic display of the operation of the machine and the speed regulation can be shown.
The scope of the works consisted of complete disassembly of cylinders and existing hydraulic system, installation of new drives, all mechanical work, complete production of new el. cabinets and laying el. installation and implementation of the software, and launching and monitoring of results.
